This is Ronnie. He's a 10 yr old shit zu. He used to belong to one of my clients. I work as a carer for the elderly, in their own homes. My client is moving to a retirement village that does'nt allow pets so I offered to take Ronnie as she had'nt been able to find a home for him and was going to have to have him put down.
Ronnie had lived all his life in a small backyard. He'd never been in a car, never seen a cat, never been with another dog, never walked on a lead, bit you if you tried to pick him up and was'nt housetrained. And our yard is not gated so he had to learn not to run out on the road. So, yeah, he had some issues.
The first couple weeks we almost took him back to his owner as , although he got along fine with our dog, he gave the cats hell. I found him on the road a couple times. He bit my husband a couple times. My husband built a big pen for him and he got out of it about 6 times till we gave up on that idea.
But, all these things have been resolved and he's a good boy now. Not an attractive boy but I still love him :)
