In the current financial climate, it seems even more odd that banks were built like fortresses . .

A very strong and stately bank, LOL at Ronnie's comments, perhaps from prior financial crisis's to protect the bankers safety the built them like fortresses

@Twelvebit: It says 'established 1848' above the door. Whether it was built then I don't know, I can't find any info on it.
