great shot lisa. my middle son had dreads for about a year when he was in middle school. they were a real pain in the ass to maintain. and of course you can't undo them. then one day, without warning, he cut them all off. i think it might have been about a girl.

The soft light and his mouth so relaxed. It's interesting how I (almost) had to look for his eyes, but they're clear and available. Great portrait!

Funny story from gbe. When I was in the military and hair length was a big deal I cared a lot about my hair. When I got out I grew it long for awhile. Eventually I realized having my hair long was a pain in the ass for a number of reasons, and I cut it. Made me wonder why women put up with it. Now I cut it myself and keep it shorter than I ever had to in the military, simply because it easier that way.

@Twelvebit: Damn right it's easier. My husband likes long hair on women. This year I cut it shorter than I've had it for years because I was fed up with the maintenance of it . I thought he'd complain but he never said a word. Made me wish I'd done it earlier, it's such a relief.
