Well captured Lisa its quite hard to do I tried it while on holiday in Aussie but all I got was a pouchfull of legs and tail. Did you enjoy the wild bird show of all the places that we visited Currumbin had the best one

@jamesy: Thank you. Yes we loved the birds. Not sure if you mean the one with the eagles and owls which was wonderful or the hand feeding of the lorikeets which was a fantastic experience.

Oh Lisa this is superb, She is so casual about you taking a photo of her and her baby, just priceless, well done! I love most about this that you can really get a sense of the strength in their tails which I have never really seen before, thank you!

@Kylie Greenan: I think this was because they are so used to the people swarming around in this area, they are so friendly there, a different experience to a zoo completely. Could just walk up and sit beside them, marvellous. Yes they do have wonderfully strong tails. I once saw 2 male roos, on a hill, balanced on their tails, playfighting - course I did'nt have my camera with me , damn it.

Hey.. I was in Currumbin in the early 80's... no doubt it has changed since then but I am sure they still feed the Lorikeets... this Mama Roo and her baby is gorgeous...

@Fliss: They sure do. My partner lived in queensland when he was a boy and remembers feeding them then too.

excellent lisa. i don't think i've ever seen a photo that gives such a clear sense of a mother kangaroo.

Wonderful image. They are such unique and amazing animals. To have a "pocket" like that to carry their young.
Very interesting. I never really see kangaroos so this shot gives me insight.
Great that you will be taking part in the Caturday challenge on Oct. 11th.
